Whether intentionally or by mistake, over half of Internet users click on spam ads.Spam constitutes between 85 and 98 percent of all email traffic, and a survey from the Messaging Anti-Abuse Group has shed light on why it is so ubiquitous: It works.
While most spam clickers claim they only did so by mistake, and a smaller percentage because they "wanted to see what happens," almost 20 percent of all Internet users admit to hitting the link because they were interested in the products being offered.
We're guessing those geniuses also believe that the lonely promiscuous girl who just popped up in the corner of the screen actually does live in the neighborhood.
