Our friends over at FilmDrunk have the latest footage from "Funny People," the much-anticipated Judd Apatow/Adam Sandler collaboration. While this clip clearly emphasizes the film's slapsticky side, previous trailers have suggested a melancholy streak -- perhaps the kind that may elicit waterworks in the viewer.
There is no question chicks like it when movies make them cry. They're masochistic that way. (Probably has something to do with childbirth.) Guys, on the other hand, are mixed on the prospects of a film making them well up. This is why we've made "Beaches" into a punch line.
But every once in a while, a film sucks us in with the promise of sports or violence or sex jokes, and then makes us sob like little babies -- and we still love it. While it remains to be seen if "Funny People" is that type of film, we want to know what you think the manliest tearjerker is.
Is there another testosterone-targeted tearjerker we missed? Let us know in the comments.

Good reply Tex. As you can see in the film that Kirk care's more about his than himself. This was Kirk's favorite film which is based on the novel "The Brave Cowboy " by Edward Abby. It's a great novel my friend, kev

Anyone see "Gallipoli"? It was pretty devastating. Mel Gibson was actually in it, he was pretty young at the time. It was one of those movies that you think is one of the most powerful films you ever saw but you can't bear to watch again. Just my opinion.

What about Midnight Express? The American locked up in a Turish Prison. I also agree with Gallipoli.

The movie La Bamba about Richie Valens got me. That part at the end when his brother is just yelling Richie! Richie! over and over.
Also I can't believe no one has mentioned American History X. The end of that movie made me so sad that I didn't even care if anyone saw me tearing up.

Black Hawk Down makes me cry. I am an Airborne Ranger I was in 1st of the 75th Ranger Regiment. While I did not go to Iraq I know what it means to be a Ranger, and what combat is like. The part at the end when they read the man's letter to his family out loud makes me tear up. To know what it means to face death in the face and to have first hand experience with the battle field, and the hell of warfare I understand that the letter home is more than a cliche or some attempt to be cool. Imagine that was the last and only words to your loved ones. Imagine that there was no more tomorrow and that your fate was of no more. Football is a game played by boys. Combat is no game winning means survival and losing means certain death. I am using my wife's screen name so excuse me on that.

I was at HHC 75th RGR. I served in peace time, but had the honor to work everyday with men who fought in Somolia. I saw Blackhawk Down only once, I haven't been able to watch it since. I know it's a movie, but the characters the actors portray have real names and faces to me.
