There is no touchier topic to discuss in America than race. Just ask Barack Obama, who is supposedly an expert at doing so, yet made a mess of his first presidential foray into black/white relations at a press conference last week.So thank goodness for Glenn Beck, who is just as willing to dispense with the frank racial talk as he is to go on television and speak words that don't make sense when strung together.
After the jump, Glenn Beck's latest logic twister leaves even his Fox News cohorts baffled.

Obama is a racist just like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. Acorn is a racist organization even though it is headed by a rich white guy.
Anyone that believes that Blacks deserve preferential treatment because of thier skin color is a racist just as people who believe blacks should be subjugated are racists.
A racist is a person who treats a person of a different color different than they would treat a person of thier own color.
By that definition Obama is a racist because he gives preference to minorities. Look at his picks for department heads and the supreme court. Then look at the language of the bills being passed. They all have language that gives blacks preferential treatment for admissions to college, federal aid, housing aid, and health care.
If a white person did what Obama did they would be burned alive by the ACLU and NAACP. But Obama can get away with signing a law that says that a University must admit a certain percentage of black people, even when they don't have the grades or credentials to be there.
You have situtations where white people score a 27 out of 30 on the MCAT don't get into medical school but a black person scoring a 13 does. One person got an A and one person got worse than an F. One gets to be a doctor and one doesn't.
The age of "I can't do it because I'm black and the man is keeping me down" has been gone for a very long time. The frickin predident of the USA is black. If you can't get a job or get into college because you are black and stupid it is your own fault for being stupid. It has nothing to do with being black!!!

Well said? Iridium, you're silly. No one goes to medical school with an F or a 13 on the MCAT. Where you could have began a logical discussion regarding affirmative action, you instead provide completely moronic arguments without valid proof.
Obama is a very, very intelligent man. This is what makes him very, very different from you.

Iridium is correct. Mitch, no one may get in w/scores like that but another proud example of Obama's "non-racism," his SCOTUS nominee, Sonia Sotomayor, ADMITTED her grades were not good enough yet she still got admitted to the top school she went to, thanks to affirmative action lowering the bar for her in lieu of someone else w/higher scores getting kicked out. Perhaps that, plus her multiple racist statements of Latina women "obviously" being smarter than a white guy, provide you enough proof?
Or maybe the fact that Obama himself admitted to not knowing the Gates case facts yet insulting law enforcement and calling them stupid?
Maybe his Rev Wright speech where he basically said we're all a little racist in our own way is more proof?
Or perhaps his recent NAACP speech where he said, "yeah, the man's had you down but we'll change that" is more proof?
Obama may be intelligent but you are proving to ignore his real motives and instead swoon over him like the majority of the fools out there chanting mindless Hope/Change mantra. How's that stimulus hope/change going for the economy, by the way?

THOSE ARE PRETTY DUMB COMMENTS.. I DONT SEE HOW A WHITE PERSON CAN MAKE A COMMENT ON BLACKS BEING GIVEN ANYTHING? I BELIEVE ONLY A RACIST WHITE PERSON WOULD MAKE ANGRY STATEMENTS LIKE THIS..I BELIEVE YOU WOULD PREFER FOR THINGS TO BE HOW THEY USE TO FOR BLACK POEPLE,, I BELIEVE YOUR VERY UPSET THAT THE USA NOW HAS A BLACK PRESIDENT..70% OF THE STAFF OBAMA PICKED IS WHITE,,HILLARY CLINTON WHO WAS RUNNING AGAINST OBAMA AND BAD MOUTHING THE HELL OUT OF HIM GOT PICKED BY HIM.. BUT YOU SEEM TO PIONT OUT 2 POEPLE THAT HE PICKED AND ARE BLACK? Hmmmmmmm sounds like a deep hatred to me,, you think because blacks can sit at the counter and use the same restrooms that racism doesent exist for blacks anymore????? you are living in a fantasy world... most whites are under cover racist now.. there to affraid to be openly racist. because now there are consiquences... so they are now racist on the down low... im white and i see racism against blacks and hispanics all the time..its very much still alive in the usa.. whites never had a reason to hate black poeple,, but blacks have had many many reasons to not like whites... you remember that.. you can hate poeple of color with your cover up posts..the more you hate them the stranger they will get....

I agree that Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are racists because they definitely give black people preferential treatment...but Obama doesn't. Iridium does have a point with the age old "I'm black so i should have this and that..." and as a black person I am somewhat ashamed with how many people do that.
However, I think Obama is more focused on the middle class then black people in general. I honestly do not think he has very much preference toward minorities, being raised from both sides.
Al Sharpton is a different story...can't stand that guy...

Unfortunately, Obama has shown himself to be a racist with the Gates thing. Of course, America has known that his wife is an outspoken Racist, and had doubts about Obama once they found out he listened to Rev. Wright spew his "white man hating" sermons for 20 years. Most of us had hoped that as a mixed race individual, he would care about all American equally. Sadly, he is using the race card to further his political agenda. Another sad day in America.

Obie just can't keep his BIG BLACK mouth shut. It's always about BLack people, black rights, I'm, black president. Where the heck was his mother when she got invoved in this birth procedure/doing? He no longer remembers the color of her skin. Of course neither of his parents wanted to raise him - so guess he has
prejudices of both races in his own family creatiion.

I am shocked at the deep, penetrating stupidity of some of these comments. Obama is racist? Glenn Beck is a Patriot? Seriously?
If you do not understand the purpose of the affirmative action program, you should keep your ignorant mouth shut. There are deep disparities in the opportunities afforded to Blacks in comparison to Whites that are directly connected to Slavery and the economic and social oppression that followed after. Anyone thinking that things are equal now has failed to do a scrap of research. Equality is about economic resources, period. There is no equality without equal resources and power. The Black community has been drowning in poverty since slavery, and, whether we like it or not, we as a country are responsible for that condition.
You can't pull yourself up by your bootstraps if you don't have any boots. Having a small percentage of the community escape that poverty does not make things equal.
It doesn't really matter much whether whites are actively "oppressing" blacks anymore-for the most part, I think those days are done. The passive economic oppression is more than effective at reducing the black representation in the middle and upper classes. The economic oppression was built into our system in the past, and affirmative action has been an attempt to balance those scales out. It is not a perfect program-I would like to live in a world where merit alone is enough, but test scores are directly related to quality of schools and education...which are directly related to economic resources. Something has to be done, and this is the best thing they've come up with so far. It beats the hell out of reparations, or revolution.

Affirmative Discrimination is more accurate.
The last time I looked any blcck could attend any church they want, can eat at any resturant they prefer, can attend school they qualify for or don't qualify for in many cases.
I supposed 200 years from now people like Christopher and Sharpton and Jackson wil still be screaming discrimination especially if they can make a buck by blackmailing corporations with the race card or getting elected to office again in a district that has been gerrymandered to the point of absurdity.
This absurd concept of affirmitive action in this day and time should relegated to the museum of beaten dead horses.

FOX News is a joke in itself. Glenn Beck is the racist. For a fleeting moment in my life, I watched FOX. I quickly realized that the whole network will say whatever is necessary to demonize the Democrats. For eight years, they supported Bush/Cheney. Just look at the abysmal mess that administration has gotten us into.

The only racists and dum dums I see are the folks commenting on this board. Rather than quibble over semantics or distorted politics, let's examine the most ignorant remarks.
Iridium-Is there a reason you're completely ignoring the fact that Obama is half white? Perhaps, his mixed ethnicity means your argument that he's treating people of a different race
unfairly doesn't hold water. Hmm.
Tylerx3-I disagree with your conclusion. Obama as a mixed race individual is in a unique position to comment on interactions between police and ethnic minorities. While I think his comment was premature--prompted by a close personal relationship with the professor--his point about the disparate treatment of blacks and hispanics by law enforcement personnel was well founded. Blacks don't commit more crimes than whites, yet blacks and hispanics are stopped and arrested more frequently, receive harsher sentences and are less likely to receive parole than their white counterparts, often for the same crimes. If you were caught off guard by his comment, you should look at the apalling numbers.
Sue-Our president "can't keep his big Black mouth shut." Then, you conclude he wasn't wanted by either parent and "had prejudices of both races in his creation." Wow. Some things are better left unsaid, and these comments are good examples. When you tell someone to keep their big Black mouth shut, you inform the world that you are bigot. In addition, when you conclude that a child who chose to live with his grandparents was unwanted by his parents, you inform the world that you are ignorant. Hence, the combination of unfortunate comments proves that you are ignorant bigot. Do the world a favor, and think before you add another comment.
Chealcey-Poorly chosen comments convince no one and lend credence to the arguments of idiots. Please, read your remarks before posting.
Jocephus-I find it ironic you comment that Chealcey must be a product of public schools when you can't spell your own screen name properly. I assume you're literate enough to know the ancient scribe's name was Josephus.
