Japanese smart toilets will soon be introduced in the United States. The typical loo in Japan eliminates the need for toilet paper by using multiple water streams for washing, and air blowers from various angles for drying. It is heated, illuminates itself at night, de-ionizes the air around it, plays music to drown out unpleasant sounds, and even monitors for medical problems with urine tests. Most come with a "marriage saver" feature, which automatically puts down the seat.
Although Japanese-style toilets haven't yet gained traction in America, the head of Japan's biggest toilet company recently vowed to break into the U.S. market.
We're greatly anticipating these amazing johns, with the hope they will also have hold-your-girl's-hair-while-she's-puking functionality.
