When it came time to choose a best man for his wedding, a groom in the U.K. asked his English springer spaniel to accompany him on his W-A-L-K down the aisle.David Harding, 32, said he didn't want offend his friends by having to pick one of them as best man, so he chose his faithful pooch, Frank, instead.
"Frank is a big part of our family and we wanted to include him in our wedding," said Harding's bride, Michelle. "Before the wedding we took him to the church to make sure he was all right there and asked the reverend who said he didn't mind at all -- I even noticed he had put a dog bowl out."
The trusty canine, who was decked out in a hat and tuxedo collar for the occasion, was quiet and well-behaved throughout the ceremony. And at the reception, he did no more slobbering, howling or leg humping than the average best man.

Love it!! I think this bride is a very lucky girl and that her groom will make a wonderful husband. Any man that thinks that much of his dog, has a huge heart!!

Yea, so???? My cousin, in the USA did this a few years ago. His doberman also sported a tux! The dog was better behaved than the ring bearer who by the way lost the ring (it was an outside wedding).

I've married hundreds of people and I've had dogs as best men, ring bearers, and escorts for grandma. Nothing shocks me....there are some things that still surprise me.

By Hi Michelle!
Aw, that is so sweet. What an adorable couple, and a lucky dog to have such a loving family. My dog was my ring bearer at our wedding, and he got his little tux and boutonniere that matched the groomsmen's.
BTW, for all of you dissing the bride, the dog, or the man that obviously has everything, get a flippin' life! You WISH you were so lucky to have what this man does!

It is a cute dog definetely a better choice than his wife, it is unusual to have a dog as a best man but what can you expect from the UK.

I find this story very ironic, because i watched the episode of FRIENDS today on TBS, where Phoebe is getting married and has to pick either Ross and Chandler to be one of her husbands' groom. Then he winds up picking his dog.

Very rude of you folks ripping on the bride. But also very tyically shallow of most people who only judge by appearance. Do you all live in Hollywood??

I do. (live in Hollywood,Ca) part of the time. The bride would not win any beauty contest, but the groom is not a "blue ribbon" contender either. The dog is the best looking one in the picture.

I see all the "beautiful people" have to make a comment regarding how the bride looks. Why? Such shallow selfish judgmental jerks. She is probably more happy than you will ever know. She has someone who loved her so much as to want to grow old with her .. do you have anyone willing to give you themself for the rest of their life? Probably not.
