Confusing her gestating fetus with a sports stadium, a woman in Arkansas is auctioning off the naming rights to her unborn son on eBay, starting at $150.Lavonne Drummond, an unemployed mother of six, is hoping to garner $25,000 or more by offering the opportunity to name her seventh child, a boy due on Sept. 16, to the highest bidder.
"The economy is so bad and there's no jobs out here that will support a family of my size," Drummond said. "It sounds really crazy but I thought maybe there's someone out there who could help me out with a good name. I'm running out of good names."
Drummond's family has thus far not embraced the decision, and her husband, a Navy man stationed in Virginia, isn't even aware of the online auction yet. "He'll probably support me 100 percent on whatever I feel is best for my family," she said. Probably.
With the auction still underway, Drummond will have to wait and see what happens, until September, when she'll likely welcome an adorable baby boy named GoldenPalace.com into the world.

She can't afford to support a family of her size? How about she just stops having f*cking kids? No common sense, people like her should be sent to a remote island and not allowed to talk to the rest of the world. Maybe if she would have invested in condoms or birth control, she wouldn't have to wind up with a kid named after a website. What an idiot, I hope no one buys it and she has to be in a miserable financial hole for the rest of her life, she deserves it.

All I have to say to you Ryan is Karma it's a B1t*h.
Have you ever thought that due to the fact that her husband is serving our country instead of the family sitting on welfare that she should have the right to name the child how she sees fit? Her husband is responsible for your right to say what you think, within reason, on these boards.
As for placing your unborns "name" up for auction on e-bay. Come on we all know, at least those of us who have been fortunate enough to have children, that when a woman is pregnant they do things that are hormonally driven and not necessarily thought driven.
I cannot say I would do this, but it is her right & her husband has signed a dotted line stating he is willing to die for those rights.
So. Again Ryan Karma!

Did you ever think that her religion prevents her from using contraception. She has a right to believe whatever it is she wants to believe and do whatever she sees right for her child within reason. This is America and we all made it what it is and this is what it has become deal with it.

The real question is instead of writing this article why didn't someone take a few minutes to call child cervices? If she has 6 kids already the odds would be that she just *might* be a good parent and yet she's ruining a future human being's life before he is born. Might as well abort.

Well i dont think she is horribly poor since her husband is in the navy, they probably dont make AS MUCH as they would need, i do agree, she should stop having kids if they are having issues... especially when they are on number 7, seriously get your tubes tied...

its against tort law to sell the rights to your unnamed child, or gamble with them. specifically it says that the naming of your children cannot be used as tender, so she could conceivably auction off her kids name, get it official, then the buyer could sue her and demand the money back, only leaving her kid with the name Michael Hunt Durmmond

Auction winner should name that baby "Condom", regardless of its sex. That might help this moonfaced Arkansas hillbilly to take care of business so she won't have MORE CHILDREN THAT SHE CANNOT AFFORD.
Why is it that people who shouldn't reproduce at all have the most kids? Maybe we could offer tax breaks to any high-school dropout willing to be sterilized.

"The economy is so bad and there's no jobs out here that will support a family of my size,".
Then QUIT HAVING CHILDREN. Oh wait, I forgot. It makes more sense to have kids you can't support.... So then they grow up dirt poor with no chance of helping society....
This shows just how dumb people are.
EITHER LEARN WHAT BIRTH CONTROL IS OR HAVE YOUR TUBES TIED!!!! After the 4th kid (and no way to support them correctly) they should have sewn her legs together!!!!!!!

If she loved her children, she would have stopped at two (if that was all she could afford) or even one. Why would anyone bring into these troubled financial times a living breathing child that you have to feed, clothe, educate, care for his or her needs by overlooking all the above. Love? I don't think so. Birth Control? Somebody please educate this poor woman. Just because her husband is in the service, that does not mean that she will be getting that government paycheck forever. When he is done with the service, he will have to find employment. Anyone out there trying to get a job? Besides her, these heavy breeders that seem to want to keep producing children when they cannot financially care for their needs makes me wonder.....
