The new "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Film Collection" collects all four "Turtles" movies (even the one where Vanilla Ice performs "Ninja Rap") in time for the franchise's 25th anniversary. Congrats, shellheads. Maybe it's time to sit down for another interview with Barbara Walters. Also in stores this week:
-- OK, "I Love You, Man" was surprisingly funny and sweet. Now can we please put the term bromance to bed?
-- The French film "The Class," with its documentary-style depiction of the education system, makes American dreck like "Freedom Writers" and "Dangerous Minds" all the more embarrassing.
-- While "Superfriends: The Lost Episodes" includes gems like "Rock and Roll Space Bandits," it leaves out the one where they all go to Middle Earth for some reason.

I got this because I loved the originals when I was younger and still do now. The real problem with this box set, besides the cheap unfold-able pizza box it came in it is that this is a bare bones release, there are No extras what so ever. I was so disappointed that I spent 56 bucks on it. Hopefully when the New live action TMNT comes out they will do a proper remastering of the Originals and release them again.

Yeah, that's a shame about the extras. I would to see a well-made documentary on the first movie, with behind-the-scenes footage of the Jim Henson crew and the Turtles in costume. And, of course, a making of "Ninja Rap" for Secret of the Ooze. I also remember liking the third movie when it came out, and wonder if it holds up. (I expect it probably doesn't.) Can't beat the first movie though.
