Further proving our theory that bears are becoming bolder and smarter in a bid to replace humans, a black bear that got stuck in a skateboard park in Colorado actually learned how to climb a ladder to escape.

Officials discovered the bear in the sunken skate park in the mountain resort town of Snowmass, Colo. on Tuesday morning. It had wandered in the night before but was unable to escape due to the steep concrete walls.

"In an effort to ensure its safety, and the safety of our residents, animal control officers extended a ladder, waited patiently and the bear figured it out," said Snowmass Village spokeswoman Lesley Compagnone.

After briefly sniffing the ladder, the bear climbed it with great agility, taking two rungs at a time and fleeing the scene once it escaped from the skate park.

The bear is being called a public nuisance by authorities and a total poseur by the skateboarding community.
