The harsh wildfires roasting L.A. have shown us how quickly we could lose it all. ioSafe recently launched a new product that won't bring back your crispy bungalow, but at least it will provide some peace of mind for your data.

The Solo, starting at $149, is a 500 GB external hard drive that's practically bombproof. In fact, you could drop it into the pool at one of Hef's mansion parties and then put it in the hog roast and your precious porn collection would be intact. According to the specs, the Solo is fireproof to 1,500 degrees for a half-hour, and waterproof down to 10 feet in both fresh and salt water. Throw in the three-year warranty, and the possibilities for abuse really are breathtaking.

If you really need to beef things up, you can go for the 1.5 terabyte option, for $300. On the downside the Solo has no internal RAID array so if the disk fails, you're still hosed. They offer NAS solutions, so that you can have a fireproof backup server on your network but those cost upward of $12K.
