Required viewing from the week in DVD.

Skip the by-the-numbers "Gamer" and opt for the pure action and insanity of Neveldine/Taylor's "Crank 2: High Voltage." Maybe it's a parody of bad action movies, maybe it's actually just a bad action movie. Either way, it features Corey Haim sporting the world's mangiest mullet.

Also in stores this week:

-- "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" is watchable for the first 45 minutes or so before it devolves into a mess of terrible special effects and Will.I.Am cameos.
-- With werewolves becoming the new vampire, the time is ripe for "An American Werewolf in London" on Blu-ray.
-- Idris Elba from "The Wire" added some much-needed tension to the fifth season of "The Office." How about a pop-in from Bubbles next season?
