Sleeping with your partner increases the risk of depression, heart disease, strokes, lung disorders and traffic accidents. That's the claim being made by Dr. Neil Stanley, after studies have found couples suffer 50 percent more sleep disturbances when they share a bed. The sleep specialist recommends that unless couples are having no sleep problems at all, they should consider the separate-bed approach.
Stanley, who doesn't bunk with his wife, also points out that the tradition of the marital bed only became the norm after the industrial revolution, when space became an issue.
If this advice is followed, we predict the two biggest beneficiaries will be those who feel pressure to snuggle and "SportsCenter."

Two twin beds. More like two full size beds ever try sleeping in a twin? Better yet separate rooms with Queen size beds and just visit when you feel frisky!

And before the industrial revolution who are considering? Wealthy Victorians? Through most of history and in much of the world households lived/s in a one room residence and may not even have a bed persay.

If you noticed.... A lot of the cranky comments about sleeping in separate beds came from men. I am soooooo for separate beds. I sleep much better wrapped around pillows that don't move around, that don't disturb my sleep.

Well, I don't know if sleeping with someone is hazardous to your health. But, I do know that if you sleep with someone who disturbs your sleep too often, you might tend to be quite tired.
My spouse works in a different state or country every week and is only home around 3-5 days a month. As glad as I may be that he is home, he snores. (freight train style) He does try the over the counter fixes and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Regardless, we don't sleep apart, as we're never together as it is. I am assured a restful nights sleep when I do sleep alone.

Sleeping with a beloved partner in the same bed is the most soothing thing in the world. Besides, studies show that married couples are a lot healthier than singles. If Stanley were correct, this would be the other way around

he didn't say it's better to get divorced, he said it's better to sleep in separate beds.

Loved your comment.. You seem to have a full bed. I sleep with my husband and even though he sleeps on top of me it makes me feel warm... If he doesnt sleep on top of me I sleep on top of him on a king size bed,,, guess we have room for a couple of dogs and cats. :)
