This from a survey of 2,000 adults, which also found "Nothing's wrong, I'm fine" is the lie most common to both sexes.

Interestingly, women tend to misrepresent the financial nature of their clothing purchases, while men make up excuses as to why they didn't answer their partner's phone calls. Male participants also frequently copped to the classic white lie, "No, your butt doesn't look big in that."

Then again, there's always the possibility that women are twice as likely to lie to a survey taker.
