In a move that gets an A+ for ingenuity but a D for execution, an 11-year-old boy in Huntsville, Ala., faked his own kidnapping so he wouldn't have to bring home his bad report card.

The boy, a student at Ed White Middle School, claimed that an armed man in an old red car abducted him after school and told him, "I'm going to take you somewhere and kill you." Then, according to his story, the boy jumped from the moving car and ran to his grandparents' house.

Cops were alerted about the kidnapping attempt and showed up to file a report. That's when the boy fessed up to concocting the whole story to cover his bad grades.

Sgt. Mark Roberts said they became skeptical of the tale when the boy told them he was able to escape the car with his band instrument but not his report-card-carrying backpack, the whereabouts of which are still unknown.

Anyone finding a report card containing shameful Cs and Ds is advised to turn it into the Huntsville Police Station as soon as possible.
