A new breast-enlargement technique will use excess fat from the thighs and stomach.The procedure will be available to the public next year and cost around $12,000. Beyond dealing with two problem areas at once, doctors believe it will result in less of the scarring and none of the hardening associated with traditional breast augmentation.
Mel Braham, who runs a chain of clinics that will offer the surgery, calls it "the most exciting breakthrough in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery that I have seen over the last two decades."
As breast fans, we will be petitioning our congressman to have this procedure fully covered under any new health-care bill.

I agree. Her boobs look horrible. She's wearing two beach balls under her top. Big boobs are mostly a joke anymore. Why a woman would want them so much to go through the pain of implants is beyond my understanding.

They do it to be attractive in a stereotypical way. Our society puts enormous pressure on women to be attractive--it's what "we" value most in women--which i think is effed up. to say you don't understand why women would get implants seems disingenuous at best. have you been living under a rock?

this is 1950's technology. They stopped doing it because it has some problems. The fat can be reabsorbed,(wasted 12k) partially reabsorbed (lumpy and scary), or can slip into another part of the body (look like a mutant)

gus, no I'm not living under a rock. I realize they have some unfulfilled emptiness or dissatisfaction with themselves to want to get breast implants. Society and especially Hollywierd expects them to. It sucks. It is indeed F'd up. And I still think it's F'd up for a woman to think she needs huge breasts because men expect it and she is deficient if she doesn't. It sucks. Yes, it's personal opinion or preference but I think big boobs are ugly. And LOOK fake. I prefer natural, even if they are smallish. A popular saying 40 years ago in my guy circle was: "more than a mouthful is wasted!". Still holds true in my book. Kudos to Kate Beckinsale who has refused to go the implant route. Her breasts are lovely, just right. And she can stand up straight and see her feet without bending to see over her boobs. You go, Kate!

I have issues with excess fatty tissue and afer having my baby in 2004 I remember telling a friend that I wish I could afford lipo. I tol him that it would be really nice if I could just get the fat zapped from my thights and belly and then use it to perk up my boobs. Too bad I couldn't get endorsements for that. I figured with your own fatty tissue they would feel more natural and no many side affects. Oh Well....didn't open my mouth soon enough.

This is not a new process. Just an expensive one. 3 times the cost of silicon. Once the fat is removed it must be cleaned of blood run off and contaminates before reinsursion. If not done correctly the cottage cheese effect will unfold.
