Most guys have done something to impress a girl that they've ended up regretting -- and if they're lucky, it was just an ankle tattoo or purchasing a lifetime pass to the local philharmonic. Former FBI Agent Mark T. Rossini wasn't so lucky. He fell hard for a woman, and in his efforts to prove his devotion to her, he lost his job and his good name. The Sordid Story
It was 2006. Rossini held a $140,000-a-year position in the FBI's Washington, D.C., headquarters. But the outgoing bachelor also enjoyed the nightlife of New York, and often visited the Big Apple.
One of those trips brought him to Elaine's, the famous Upper East Side celebrity haunt, and it was there that he met sultry actress Linda Fiorentino. They became a couple almost immediately, and were soon seen all over New York and D.C. together.
Complications Ensue
But there was another man in Fiorentino's life. Notorious tough guy P.I.-to-the-stars, Anthony Pellicano. Some accounts say Fiorentino had a "previous relationship" with Pellicano. Others call it an infatuation.
What is no longer in dispute is that when Pellicano's high-profile trial for illegal wiretapping began, Rossini started making illegal searches on the FBI's Automated Case Support System about the case and passing the information on to Fiorentino, who snuck it on to Pellicano's lawyer. In other words, Rossini was violating his oath of duty so he could help his girlfriend aid another guy with whom she was "infatuated."
He Did It for LoveRossini was charged, and pleaded guilty to illegally accessing files. He received probation and lost his job. Fiorentino, who is no longer dating Rossini, was not charged.
We've seen "The Last Seduction." We know Linda Fiorentino is one sexy lady. But can anyone be that irresistible? We're going to have to see it again to find out. Maybe even "Jade."
We've all got our dream girls, but is there any woman out there that could get you to violate the principles of your job like Rossini apparently did? Or maybe a fast and furious love affair with a Hollywood knockout is worth the shame and personal destruction. You tell us.

Idiot!! Plain & simple. I was an FBI Wanabe once-upon-a-time, the plan since high school, a CJ Major in college for that purpose. Now, 27 years a P.I., failing to have the patronizing resources that 98% of all of LE have/had that gets/got them their jobs!...."We have all the wrong people in all the right places".......Nepotism & patonization puts them there. This Jackass, Rossini, is one more example of just that.

Why would anyone do ANYTHING that would put at risk their prestigious, high-paying job with the world-famous, highly respected for its ethics, FBI? Unless, of course, one was not only stupid but also without a sense of morals or ethics.
Speaking of stupid, Heavytoka makes the grade-for only categorizing breaching ethics for a woman, rather than for ANY unethical behavior.

PiHntr, are you an idiot? Do you even know what patronizing means. Good for you, you used it as an adjective. God have mercy on your soul. Oh, and obviously Piss Ant would do anything for love.

What goes around comes around....in 1992 I had the unpleasant experience of working for a major US corp out of Somers, NY. There I was the admin for an extremely agressive and overly ambitous hiring manager. Her last name was Rossini. She would go on and on about how her hubs was a rookie with the FBI. We even met at a company picnic. He thought he was "it". She explained their 10 year plan....Kiss ass. Get promoted quickly up the FBI ladder, get assigned to a high profile case, sell the story to Hollywood. He would play the lead. Turns out he was an aspiring actor before he passed the FBI exam. Well, I guess the devil's in the details. He got his 15 minutes afterall.

He broke the law. He knew it. He went into the FBI database not once, but OVER 40 TIMES to gather information a fellow FBI agent's case. Information that ended up with the very criminal they were after.
Sound familiar? Anyone see "The Departed?" Be glad he's gone from the bureau.

This would be valid if the guy was sharing a life with her and she were trying to save a family member or a dear friend, NOT HER FCUK-FRIEND!

It happens. Women make men do stupid things. If you really love someone or are infatuiated with them it can happen easily. Do not even act like you have not done it or seen it before. When you want acceptance from that person you may do anything. Is it stupid...yes.. but that does not mean you will not do it !! If you look back on your own life I will bet you have done something stupid for love !!

What an idiot! I'm a woman and I have had men do some ridiculous, insane things for me, without me asking. What can I say! As we use to say, back in the day, "she had his nose so wide open, you could drive a mack truck through there."

Well put ! 99% of the people on here love passing judgement without knowing all the facts besides what you read in the media.
Most people on here act like they don't have a skeleton or two in there closet. At lease he has the guts to plea quilty and take his lumps. For that I give him a thumbs up because he is man enough to earn up to it.

I also knew Mark personally. We attended neighboring high schools and from the time he was a kid, he always made it clear he wanted to serve in law enforcement. Yes, he did something stupid, but we all have. I also knew him first hand in regard to his work in the FBI as my family's business had cooperated with the Feds in helping to track Counter Intel types. Mark was one of the few most dedicated Agents I had ever worked with. Please don't judge him from something that has nothing to do with terrorism.
