A few weeks back, we featured a gallery of the festivities at the 2009 Cougar Convention in Palo Alto, Calif. To be completely honest, we were a little confused by the photographic evidence of the event, because it didn't look nearly as exciting as the cougar phenomenon we were led to believe. After watching Current TV's Ben Hoffman report from the cougar fest, we're not only becoming increasingly skeptical, but we're on the verge of being grossed out.

I think this works out great! I am not a young man, but for sure I would not -uck one of these old hogs. Young guys will hump anything so the "cougars" have a chance to get laid. Seems like a perfect solution for over the hill women. And a great laugh for the young studs!

The whole 'cougar' concept has taken a turn for the worse, in my opinion. People view older women hooking up with a younger man as 'immoral' or 'unethical'. Guys have been dating younger women for decades and it's not frowned upon. I am 20 and my girlfriend is 37. A 17 year difference and we're deeply in love with one another. It's not about the fantasy of it. It's that I see multiple things about this woman that makes me want to be with her more than anyone else. The age difference brings a whole new game to the table. While you have wisdom and experience from one that has been around, you also have the enthusiastic, ready-for-an-adventure younger one to add to the mix. It makes for an interesting, long lasting relationship. If, of course, the man is man enough for commitment.

You suppose you will still be there at 30?...35? In the mean time just keep em smiling. All women are beautiful. Being a real man doesn't mean foolishly falling headlong in love with the first woman that makes you feel a little warm and fuzzy. Slapping on a ring when you cant be deemed responsible enough to consume alcohol because you havn't had enough life time exp doesn't make you a real man either. It does qualify for an honorable mention Darwin award. A real man holds her when she is weak, comforts her out side of the sack as well as in. He holds her hair out of the way when she throws up. Mostly he is there when she needs him. A real man can fully support her wants and needs spiritually, physically, and (the hardest one) without her input financially. If she is putting most or all finacial support then he is simply a paid pet for her amusemant. Not a bad spot to be in either. I applaud your amourous response but, if you have only eaten saltines. Wait till you have tried Ritz, soda, and water crackers before you decide on eating only saltines for the rest of your life.

Ummmm, I always considered Cougars to be attractive older women seeking younger men. I saw only one or two in that whole crowd that were attractive. (neither the winner nor runner-up are attractive) The rest were pitiful older women wanting to get laid. Of course with that bunch of douche bag guys I saw, what can you expect. A true cougar has taste and douche bags aren't gonna be on their menu. I will say this "Nothing beats a mature woman that knows what she wants."
