88-year-old Biago Sciscione is hardcore. The WWII veteran was recently the victim of an attempted robbery and decided -- despite being in a wheelchair (and occasionally using a cane) -- to knock some heads rather than let thieves make off with his property.

The four thieves entered the man's house, and while one of them tried to distract Sciscione, the other three sneaked out carrying Sciscione's safe. Sciscione spotted them through the window and, in a move that probably surprised everyone, ran to the door to confront them.

"The guy pushed me; I gave him a sock ... a good sock, and he stood there and looked at me," said Sciscione, which we have to admit is kind of awesome. Even more so, Sciscione's wife says his physical violence was accompanied by some healthy taunting of the thwarted thieves.

"He was messing around with them," Maria Sciscione said.

That sock must have been something, because they dropped his safe and ran off, possibly afraid of how they'd get mocked in prison if word got out than an 88-year-old man beat the crap out of them.
