There is a video circulating right now in which a guy tosses a basketball from the third deck of an 82,000-seat football stadium down to the playing field and right into the hoop.
Fake, right? Any Web-savvy person would come to that conclusion before even watching the tape. But so far the latest exploit of "Dude Perfect," a collective of six Texas A&M students who film themselves making amazing basketball shots, has baffled video experts, who can find no evidence of edits. This isn't the first time "Dude Perfect" has achieved notoriety. Earlier this year their trick-shot-making skills were featured on "Good Morning America."
The stadium shot alone has now garnered over two million YouTube views, which will benefit the children, as the collective has promised to sponsor a child through the charity Compassion International for each 100,000 views they get.
Kind of makes you want to believe it's real even more. But is it? Check out the shot from multiple angles and vote.

What, by chance, is the NCAAP? Do you mean the NAACP?
And it's a shame you no longer watch "black" sports, I guess you're left watching Dick Cheney shoot his friends in the face, seeing as even golf is dominated by a black man now.

Watch the ball using the "play/pause" feature. The ball is far to the right of the center of the basket as it approaches, then it seems to disappear from view.
A shot like that actually being made would go further than skill and practice. The ball is at the mercy of any winds swirling in the stadium, which are constantly changing. Therefore, he could not possibly make this shot based on practice or skill. It would simply be a lucky shot that anyone in the same moment could have made.

who cares if he made the shot or not you people really need something better to do with your lives if all you can manage to do is bicker over a college student goofing off

Like every other amazing stunt, great, but what good does it do anyone? Incredibly stupid things are done every day (jackasses abound) and they are fun to watch, then it's back to whatever we were doing. Do these guys really think this stuff matters?

You should read the article before you make comments. For every 100,000 hits their video gets they sponser a child for a charity. Everyone keeps making comments about these "dumb" kids when they don't even take the time to read what is right in front of their face.

This and all of the shots made in their videos are real. They did have to take multiple shots prior to making the ones that are in the video but they do not claim to make them on their first try. These are all good christian kids who are college roomates going to Texas A&M University who simply decided to video themselves in their backyard and the videos have exploded from there. I know this because one of them is my nephew and I have seen them make these shots. These kids have turned down sponsorship money from beer companies as they don't feel that is the image they want to promote and are donating money to sponsor child for every 100,000 hits they get on this video. To learn more about them they will be interviwed on ESPN 9/25/09 and it will be aired at 9 and 11 CST, or go to the dude perfect web site. Please do not call the videos fake just because you could not do what they do.

And what does "BOSS" spell backwards?
SSOB (double S O B) Nothing worse than a one year grad from any college that possibly thinks that they are as savy as a veteran manager.
It is about education AND experience, and experience takes time.

If you knew the wind speed, your average throwing speed, the angle of your throw and the distance, you could technically pull that off.

If they are helping children, why does it really matter if it is real or fake?

It is not real, if you watch, closely, the b-ball is no longer visible as soon as it hits centerfield of the stadium

Alice, first of all, I need to ask you exactly what the NCAAP is? (Perhaps a combination of the NCAA and the NAACP?)I am not at all familiar with that particular acronym, and I doubt if you are either. Second of all, I am fairly sure that what you INTENDED to write in your post is "Basketball has GONE the way of football, and I no longer watch Black sports." Aside from the fact that the posting itself was completely nonsensical, I would really advise you to ensure that both your grammar and usage are correct before attempting to sling that racist crap around here.

Judging by the reactions both of the shooter and those observing on the ground, and watching the clips multiple times, I would propose that this is indeed a real shot - and fairly unexpected that it would actually fly. Did they practice it from this vantage point? Perhaps... could the feat be repeated? Maybe with many, many more tries. I would suggest that this pretty much a once in a lifetime shot - literally. Remember Ripley's Believe It or Not? Lots of very amazing things can happen. The group obviously chose this particular person for a reason. Good job guys and great cause!

I agree with Kevin. Everyone gets so defensive. I thought it was pretty funny actually because of how dumb it was. Relax people.
