A tree house has sold for $12,000 on eBay, and it's not the kind of tree house you can sneak up to with friends to read your dad's Playboys. It's a 42-foot-long log-shaped house on wheels. The tree house was originally built as a promotional stunt for tourism in Tasmania, but was listed on eBay earlier this month by then-owner Alan Jennison. Made of fiberglass, foam and plywood, the house was described in the auction as "ideal for first-time homeowners."
"Add some plumbing and windows and live in tremendous style," Jennison said in the eBay ad. "Buy a block of land, set this log on it, bit of work, and you have your house."
After a bidding war between two parties, the tree house sold for more than $12,000, meaning one lucky person gets to live inside of a hollow log. Woodland creatures, who've been living in hollow logs since the beginning of time, were unimpressed.
