Before he found U.S. fame as the cynical, wise-cracking doctor Gregory House in the eponymous series -- now in its sixth season -- Hugh Laurie had a very different sort of showbiz résumé.After graduating from Cambridge University, the Oxford-born performer and writer became something of a British national treasure playing charming, clueless fops in classic British comedy series like "Blackadder," "A Bit of Fry and Laurie," and the TV adaption of P.G. Wodehouse's satire "Jeeves and Wooster."
It was something of a surprise then that 20 years into his comedy career, Laurie grew a grizzled, graying beard, revealed a more-than-passable world-weary American accent and became a breakout star as a maverick prime-time medic.
Stylistically, Laurie demonstrates a similar versatility, combining rugged all-American staples with a dash of British collegiate sophistication into a casual, grown-up look. We decided to piece together a prescription for stealing Dr. House's style ...

Hugh Laurie is a Pimp, but I don't think I could or want to try to pull off his sense of style.
