A compound found in sperm increases the longevity of human cells.

Spermidine also reduces cellular damage in fruit flies, which researchers have found live 30 percent longer when treated with the compound, and worms, which get a 15 percent burst of longevity from spermidine.

Some scientists have hailed this discovery as "the Holy Grail of age research," and there is speculation that one day a spermidine pill might be able to increase the human lifespan by up to 25 percent.
