You would think four strapping young men growing up in Seinäjoki, Finland, the city that famously hosts Tangomarkkinat, the worlds oldest Tango festival, would have enough excitement in their lives, but this was not the case for Jukka Hilden, Jarno "Jarppi" Leppälä, Jarno Laasala and Hannu-Pekka "HP" Parviainen, collectively known as The Dudesons.

Friends since childhood, the four guys live on a lawless, wind-and-snow-swept ranch inside the Arctic Circle and, well, basically do any damn bats**t crazy thing that pops into their heads.

Although The Dudesons will invariably draw comparisons to the "Jackass" crew -- with whom they have become good friends -- their stunts seem to pick up where "Jackass" leaves off. While Knoxville and Co. generally pull up just short of doing any permanent damage, The Dudesons boldly cross the line into compound fracture and missing thumb territory.

The crew's love affair with unintentional body modification began in the early '90s. Initially it was just skateboarding and snowboarding tricks they'd catch on film. But as the sunless summers and frigid winters grew longer and longer, they turned to ever-increasing levels of delinquency: Stunts became extreme stunts; pranks became extreme pranks; and pain became extreme pain. Eventually, practice yielded perfection, as well as numerous broken bones and even a missing thumb for Jarppi -- lost in a wrestling match with a bear. (Yeah, for real.)

In pure DIY style, The Dudesons began peddling VHS tapes of their Arctic extremism to the local community. As their hometown notoriety grew, so too did their ambition. After finishing high school, the foursome started their own production company, Rabbit Films, and turned their low-budget video scrapbook into a full-blown TV series. In 2001, "Extreme Duudsonit" premiered on Finnish TV, and the boys have been killing themselves (almost literally) ever since.

Broadcast in over 22 countries, The Dudesons is the biggest TV franchise ever to come out of Finland. In 2006, American audiences got their first glimpse of The Dudesons with an eight-episode series on Spike TV and the straight-to-DVD "Dudesons Movie." Since then the boys have made guest appearances on "Viva La Bam" and "Nitro Circus."

Speaking for ourselves, we hope to see more of this talented group of charismatic lunatics. After all, what self-respecting man could ever get enough of The Human Dartboard, Set the Sleeping Man on Fire, Stairway Snowboarding or The Shotgun Accident? No man we'd want to know.
