A German survey also found that what were described as "sensitive new-age guys" will get weepy up to 17 times a year. This is still much less than the average woman, who will empty her tear ducts between 30 and 64 times annually.

While women tend to well up due to stresses in their everyday life, men were found most likely to cry during weddings, funerals, sappy movies or after the death of a pet.
