One of the many problems with marriage is that you have to ask the lady in question first. Take it from us -- if you just arrange everything and then hope she turns up, you'll be wasting a lot of money on cake. So if you're going to have to ask somebody that terrifying question, you may as well think of an original way to do it, a la video game enthusiast Brad Smith.
Using a program called Lunar Magic, he redesigned a level on Super Mario World to spell out "Lisa ... will you marry me?" in coins. After coaxing his unsuspecting girlfriend into playing a bit of Mario, this geeky Lothario waited nervously before getting down on one knee and revealing a ring.
Luckily she said yes. Which is nice. And she plays Mario. Which is better. Good work, Brad. Keep reading to see the video of the young Romeo in action.
OK, maybe Brad's way isn't you. So here are some of the best odd-proposal videos the Internet has offer.
The "Make Her Think She's Being Arrested Proposal"
The Cringe-tastic Disney Proposal
Computer Game Proposal 2: The Long-Winded Way
Tired of seeing girls say yes? Thought so. This oft-admired video features a chap proposing to his girlfriend at an NBA game, center-court, live on TV. Watch till the end, the sight of the team mascot consoling him is amazing, while millionaire basketball star Tracy McGrady laughs it up. At least he doesn't have a girl's name, Tracy.

The video has been removed for "terms of sevice violations"? Then why is AOL still running the story?

It's been removed. :(
Looked it up on the internet. Really sweet, though not really particulary memorable.
Person 1: "Aw... my husband threw a party for us when he proposed, with a romantic dinner. Happiest day of my life!"
Lisa: "My husband (to be) got me to play Super Mario and spelt it out in coins."
Person 1: "Oh. How... original." *cough*

I would prefer the game to the large elaborate party any day! How can you say it is not memorable!? Do you hear of this happening all the time? How unoriginal can you be by simply throwing a party, which has been done to death. My husband proposed to me in a little magic trick that was always a joke to us. Probably not your cup of tea, but it was personal and showed me that he actually thought about it before proposing! I love the video idea!

I agree with Maggie! I've been playing video games all my life; some of my best memories with my current boyfriend is from our time gaming together. And no, I'm not 13 years old... try 33! Which is probably why the Mario and Chrono proposals seem so sweet and thoughtful. It would be something I knew took months to program, and would remember for the rest of my life.

And person number 2 says person number 1 has no imagination. That's why male gamers should only date female gamers.

Be careful what you say and do. I was 15 when I started going out with my wife - we were in 11th grade then...

yeah you are in high school how much do you know about love? really my husband and i were dating since we were freshman in highschool. We still play videogames together and to tell you the truth, we have some of the greatest times playing them together. its a great way to bond. Also from a programing look that took a long time to think of and its nice to see a guy actually thinking about how to propose to the girl of his dreams

Another video falling victim to wrongful Youtube removal. I really think sites like Youtube, Facebook and Myspace are getting way out of hand with there banning/ content removal policies.
