A desk can be the most vexing piece of furniture because it doesn't always do what you want it to do. Sometimes you need more shelving and drawers, and other times you want to shift it around to accommodate a different type of project, like paper football.

Workstation flexibility seems to be the inspiration behind London Designer Robin Grasby's Homework desk. The multi-talented table can be totally customized and reimagined to follow any whim.

It works sort of like a LEGO set. You can add on the felt slings, or artwork/maps/plans/org. charts you never want to see again, bookends, monitor pedestal, slots for power cords and/or a vase.

There's even the self-healing cutting mat -- for when you're feeling emo about your art work.
