Ok when I was 6 years old my mom took me to a movie called "Night of The Demons" where in one scene this guy is making out with this girl and she bites his tongue off; I had nightmares for months. Now most recently the scariest movie I have seen is "Ichi the Killer" Freakiest, most depraved movie I have ever watched to this day.

None of the above would even be in my top 50 except for Rosemary's Baby.
Black Christmas (the original) and Event Horizon are the scariest movies I've ever seen. My Dad walked into Black Christmas about halfway in, looked at the TV for less than five seconds, screamed, and ran from the room. It's that disturbing.

One of the Sleepaway Camp sequels (III) haunts me to this day. A girl got killed by having her head flushed in a toilet, which was equal parts scary and gross. I kind of wish I could whitewash it away.

For me it's the Excorcist. I remember getting my first surround system and watching that movie with my brother when my parents were out of the house. All those creepy sounds in that movie.. man, I didn't sleep at all that night!

It depends on what scares you. For some its Zombies, for others its aliens. For Christian Conservatives, its Bruno. I can watch horror in the middle of the day and eat a bloody steak. but if I watch it at night, by myself.....the imagination does terrible things.
As for my votes....I'd go Event Horizon and for retro's sake, Silver Bullet got me good as a kid.

Poltergeist is the one movie I remember traumatizing me for years as a child. I think that movie single-handedly made my whole generation fear clowns.

As a kid the movie that scared me the most was John Carpenters "The Thing". I was way too young to see that movie. The most traumatizing thing for me however was a scene from the television show "The Greatest American Hero". I don't remember much, but there was a scene where the hero had to use his power to merge through a wall to confront an evil spirit or something and I think he was attacked by a panther or something. Seems stupid now, but for years I couldn't sleep with my back to a wall for fear that something might be on the other side. I needed some therapy, lol.

I've never heard of Audition :0 I've seen the commercials for The Stepfather but I don't have the time to go to a theater. I wonder if the giveaway movies are scarier or as scary as Paranormal Activity, critics say it is the scariest movie to come out in 10 years...

Without a doubt - scariest movie I can think of was "Idiocracy" The thought that we are going to make ourselves extinct due to natural selection of trailer parks scares me more than any movie could.

You mean Audition isn't about Barbra Walters? That would be a scary movie. Seriously, the original Mummy with Boris Karloff gives me nightmares every time and I'm 48 year old.
