Historical data suggest Tuesday may be the rainiest day of the week.Even though a lifetime of ruined Saturday plans has led many people to believe it rains more on the weekend, researchers have always suspected the sky is more likely to open up during the work week.
While the study that called out Tuesday as the week's wettest day was only based on the weather in Manchester, England, it makes sense that a mid-week day would be the rain king due to the fact that heat and pollution caused by commerce increases the chances of precipitation.
This is good for Tuesday -- a day that has always needed something to make it distinctive. Despite our best efforts, Taco Tuesday just wasn't cutting it.

i read in new scientist that the weekend is our busiest wet dsays because we pollute (driving, factories etc.) so much during the working week that we cause it ourselves
