West Virginia leads the nation in sleeplessness.According to the first state-by-state survey of sleep habits, one in five West Virginians claim not to have gotten a single good night's rest over the past month, which is twice the national average. On the other side of the spectrum, only one in 13 North Dakotans say they struggled to sleep over the previous month.
Experts blame West Virginian's sleep woes on obesity and generally bad health. Residents of Tennessee, Kentucky and Oklahoma also have a significantly harder time getting to bed.
In light of this, West Virginia may consider changing their motto to the "Show Me Fritos at 4 a.m. State."
