We want to give a shout out to our peeps at Vice magazine who celebrated the pub's 15th-year anniversary with an "ode to 1994" Halloween party. There were plenty of Kurts and Courtneys in the hizza, plus Humpty and even a skateboarding Beavis (or Butthead, not completely sure).

For all of those sentimental grungers out there, the graying and balding Jesus Lizard and Bad Brains thumped and wailed (and made sure no one went gently into that good night).

In this era of magazine closings, a few media critics were stunned by the party's $250,000 price tag. Was it worth the benjamins? You try to build a half-pipe, soak a warehouse with alcohol and fill it with aging hardcore bands for under two clams.

Much thanks to the organizers for including Asylum and Lemondrop.com condoms in their goody bags. If you want to get some of our jimmy hats, look for an upcoming Asylum event.

Click through to check out our pictures from the night, and a video of a bologna sandwich on a mini ramp.

Vice Magazine Halloween Party 2009

This was a bad idea for the first six hours of the party. But at 5:20 a.m., the doctor was completely booked for almost three minutes.

If you ever wondered what might have happened to Kurt if he'd lived, feast your eyes on David Yow (lead singer of Jesus Lizard) attempting to crowd surf drunk at age 49 and getting dropped.

How do you describe the rest of his night? "Four Seasons of Loneliness." (That's for all you die-hard BoyzIIMen fans out there.)

Watch Asylum's friend Kevin, a.k.a. Bologna Sandwich, skate the mini ramp that Vice built for the party. (WARNING: Turn down your volume before you press play. The audio is really loud and bass-tastic).
