HBO's new documentary "By the People: The Election of Barack Obama," produced by Edward Norton and premiering Tuesday night, is an awful lot like watching that "Titanic" movie -- we already know how it ends, so the only hope for some real entertainment is in some of the new characters we meet along the way. With that in mind, here's our list of previously unknown scene-stealers in "By the People" that make this doc worth watching:

Ronnie Cho
Forget Barack Obama, this guy anchors the film. A first-generation son of a Korean immigrant who worked on the Obama campaign in advance of the Iowa caucuses before moving on to other states, Cho busts some serious freestyle dance moves at rallies when he isn't encouraging volunteers to join him in re-creating some of Will Smith's best moves from "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." The urban dictionary entry for choldier is even a direct reference to Cho's campaign work.

Cho's life story is arguably more compelling than even Obama's; he talks about living out of a car with his mother when he was young, and is seen having teary conversations with her after every big win. Cho now has a job with the Department of Homeland Security, but we've got a hunch he won't just disappear into bureaucratic obscurity. We can't wait to see him debate Meghan McCain in 2028.

Tommy Vietor
This guy is exactly what you expect a young, eager campaign communications guy for the Obama campaign in Iowa to look like. Baby-faced, lanky and appearing about 18 or 19 years old (he's actually in his late 20s), he pulls off one of the film's most memorable lines -- while returning from telling Michelle Obama of the Iowa caucus win, he pauses to tell the camera, "I might throw up now." Vietor moved on to the national campaign, and eventually the White House staff.

Lorenzo Rivera
You know those kids who get away with being totally obnoxious by virtue of the fact that they're kids? Nine-year-old Lorenzo Rivera works the phones in one scene and gets away with rolling his eyes and audibly voicing his frustrations when the folks on the other end of the line don't recognize his candidate's name. This kid's got a bright future in politics, but more importantly -- wow, that kid is totally volunteering and he's only 9!

David Axelrod's Sweaters
Somehow, this political mastermind also managed to bring Norman Rockwell back from the dead and send him to the mall to pick out turtlenecks for him. Brilliant!

David Axelrod's Ringtones
Oh, yeah -- you better believe Axelrod's rockin' the Crosby, Stills and Nash every time he gets a call.

Robert Gibbs' Kid
We can't confirm that Robert Gibbs didn't rent the kid for the filming of the documentary, but he sure makes the guy who isn't afraid to go toe-to-toe with Sean Hannity look like a real softy. It also takes some balls for the communications guy behind the purportedly liberal candidate to dress his kid in tie-dye on Election Day -- frickin' hippie socialists.

The creepy anti-Obama guy at a rally using a Curious George doll to make the point that Obama is a menacing threat.
Huh?

Barack Obama
OK, OK, so he did steal the scene a few times in his own movie. In the scene where he speaks to a crowd after his grandmother died just before the election, a single tear rolls down his face, but he never misses a beat, never has to take a moment to gather himself. The man is a machine, but a human, feeling machine.
