Men who voted for John McCain showed a drop in testosterone when Obama was announced the winner.According to saliva samples taken during Election Day, both McCain and Obama voters had similar testosterone levels. But once the election was called for Obama, young male McCain voters lost a significant amount of testosterone while their Obama-voting counterparts showed no difference. Since testosterone levels generally decline during the evening, this actually constitutes a slight uptick for Obama backers.
"Political elections are dominance competitions," was how the researchers who conducted the experiment explained the discrepancy.
If an election is enough to emasculate a guy, we can only imagine what kind of eunuchs they become on Sundays after their favorite football team loses.

I can tell you I felt a low when that moment hit. Even though I wasn't particularly fond of either candidate. Regardless, I got out of the movies when I found out from about four different texts (one from a stalker that stated "Obama won!" making me feel even lower). My friends and I all gathered at a coffee shop and just talked the evening throw on what our perceptions where going to be for the next four years. You feel pretty mellow when you give it your all for something so massive, and lose.
