Men who voted for John McCain showed a drop in testosterone when Obama was announced the winner.

According to saliva samples taken during Election Day, both McCain and Obama voters had similar testosterone levels. But once the election was called for Obama, young male McCain voters lost a significant amount of testosterone while their Obama-voting counterparts showed no difference. Since testosterone levels generally decline during the evening, this actually constitutes a slight uptick for Obama backers.

"Political elections are dominance competitions," was how the researchers who conducted the experiment explained the discrepancy.
