While the two-disc special edition of "G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra" is out today, fans of the real G.I. Joe will opt for Cartoon Network's manga-inspired "G.I. Joe Resolute" animated miniseries. With high-quality animation, a comic book-influenced story with actual violence, and a Snake Eyes sans rubber lips, this Joe is the real American hero. Also in stores this week:
-- OK, fine, "Star Wars: Clone Wars Season One" is far superior to the recent animated movie. But that is mostly due to a lack of Jabbas with a penchant for dressing and sounding exactly like Truman Capote.
-- Can you believe Hitchcock's "North by Northwest" is 50 years old? Actually, yes, we can believe it. That movie is pretty old.
-- While the documentary "Food Inc." makes good points about the way America eats, movies like this always make us want a nice, juicy cheeseburger. What? It's the cheeseburger's fault, sittin' there looking all delicious.
