Dogs are lovable creatures, to be sure, but like most animals, they are also filthy sinners in desperate need of forgiveness. Well, Christian dog owners, your prayers have been answered!Rev. Tom Eggebeen, a pastor at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles, has started a special Canines at Covenant service in which dogs and their owners can hear the word of God. The 30-minute service includes free dog treats and doggie beds for all the repentant pooches in attendance.
"The Bible says ... that God is light and God is love, and wherever there's love, there's God in some fashion," Eggebeen said. "And when we love a dog and a dog loves us, that's a part of God and God is a part of that. So we honor that."
Luckily, Covenant isn't the only church to offer a service for pets. According to a recent survey, there are more than 500 animal blessings and dog services at churches across the country. Most of the church-going dogs we've surveyed confirm that they've found God there, except for the dyslexic ones, who say they found themselves.
Check out a little sample of the sermon -- you and your best friend will be kneeling and heeling in no time ...

Now if we could get those filthy heathen cats to repent we might be getting somewhere!

Imagine how big the goldfish bowl must be in Heaven. I've never been able to keep those suckers alive for more than a week or two.
