We've all done it. You feel like a day off work, so you call the boss and put on your best I-have-a-cold voice. Groaning, you tell him you won't be able to make it in to the office. You apologize. Not good enough for Aaron Siebers, who appears to have turned calling in sick into an extreme sport. The 27-year-old from Denver recently stabbed himself in the leg and cut his head, face and stomach in a bid to get out of work. (In his defense, he does work at Blockbuster.)
He then claimed to have been attacked by a group of men who were dressed in black and had tried to rob him -- prompting police to send five law enforcement agencies to the scene, along with K-9 units. But after checking out surveillance tapes, they questioned him again and his claims fell apart. Siebers then admitted inflicting the injuries on himself to get out of work.
But why had he gone so far to get the evening off? Well it turns out Aaron had earlier fallen off his skateboard ripping his Blockbuster uniform and was worried he would get into trouble with his boss.

This reminds me of the 5-Minutes-To-Kill-Yourself game on Adult Swim.
Inflicting injuries on yourself to stick it to the man!

If I had to choose between working at Blockbuster, and being stabbed, I'd choose the stabbing as well.

Let me take a few stabs at him to finish him off. Only a true asshole would do that. What a fucking loser, I hope he was fired and charged with as many crimes as they could charge him with.

I worked retail for many years,so I know what a mind-numbing,dehumanizing experience it usually is. It can be pretty bad. Being terrified of the management enough to stab himself? Retail management is notorious for "putting the fear..." into its' "associates" for the slightest infractions. Damaging "company property" - in this a cheesy polo shirt and then firing and/or pressing charges is the draconian mindset most retail management often has. They're pretty autocratic. I hope this guy can find a real job that won't make his life a living hell.
