If there's one thing that gets people stoked for video games, it's kick-ass trailers. Whether they feature more explosions than we can count, make us wet our pants in fear, or rival theatrical coming attractions in scope and execution, game trailers are the industry's bread and butter. Nothing gets a fanboy's blood pumping (and his wallet open) more than a memorable preview.

We've lovingly and painstakingly constructed a list of the 25 best video game trailers of all time. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll curse us for not putting your favorite in the top 10 -- but most importantly you'll have a good time watching some amazing videos.

25) "Fallout 3" -- No gameplay here, but panning out of a destroyed bus to see a post-apocalyptic D.C. and the shattered remains of the Washington Monument ensured this uneventful trailer made the list regardless.

24) "Silent Hill 2" -- "Silent Hill 2" is one of the creepiest video games of all time, and for good reason: its eccentric supporting characters. This trailer lets you get to know some of the other crazies you're trapped in the titular town with. And you thought the evil, deformed, big-breasted nurses were bad ...

23) "Halo 3" -- Master Chief demonstrates why he's one of gaming's most beloved space marines in this trailer that paints him as the one-man army he really is.

22) "Metroid: Other M" -- Samus Aran is the hardest-working woman in gaming, and this announcement trailer from E3 2009 proves it. Meshing 2D action, 3D fighting and even first-person shooting, "Metroid: Other M" looks like it will have it all.

21) "Chrono Cross" -- Showcasing a colorful art style and haunting music, this trailer all but guaranteed that the successor to the highly-acclaimed RPG "Chrono Trigger" would deliver.

20) "Left 4 Dead 2" -- This recently leaked trailer reminded us how much we love killing zombies. Wait -- we didn't really need to be reminded.

19) "World of Warcraft" -- Even if you aren't an avid WoW player, it's hard to deny Blizzard's artistry with CG trailers. They know how to get people pumped to grind.

18) "Street Fighter IV" -- This stylized trailer heralded the return of Ryu and Ken with style. The cool ink-blotch effects even made their way into the final game.

17) "Super Smash Bros. Brawl" -- Nintendo hit every fanboy button simultaneously with this trailer for their flagship fighting game.

16) "Gears of War" -- Though "Gears" is all about testosterone-fueled blood-letting, this trailer offers a nice juxtaposition between burly protagonist Marcus Fenix and the "mad world" he lives in thanks to a particularly inspired choice of music.
