Tommy Christopher is Asylum's White House correspondent.Last week, I wrote about the striking similarities between ABC's remake of "V" and a Glenn Beck fever dream. Since the show drew huge numbers for the pilot episode, and in an effort to once again represent for sci-fi geeks everywhere, I asked Press Secretary Robert Gibbs for the White House's reaction to the show.
While I wasn't that surprised that he hadn't seen the show (a situation that will be remedied today), it is somewhat curious that the White House is unaware of the controversy surrounding the show.

Nice questioning, I'm not all surprised he hasn't seen it, much less even heard of the buzz going on around the show. I didn't even pick up on it until you guys posted the article about it. Watching the first two episodes, I can see what people are talking about, but I don't really mind the secret message it might hold.

Saying that "V" is an attack on the Obama administration is completely fabricated. It was pretty jarring when they tried to interject current events with their "You're talking about Universal Health Care" line, but they said nothing for or against it.

surprised anyone...they too have no idea of what is going on in this country, and they dont care....the teapartys were not formed by the gop or any insurance companys...they didn believe that either...but i am guessing that when the next election comes up and 25% of the demos lose their job...they will become believers.....some of the gop can go too.....there are many from other parties that have the savy to not only run for office but to run the office they are elected to....look past the silver tongued retoric and slick faces....pick the one who are willing to not only say "change" but will tell exactly what their change will be....

Well, there is always perspective e.g., in this case two ways of looking at something. So, if the Obama obsessed (e.g., he's an infiltrator and the cause of the failure of America) then those who are not obsessed with Obama (e.g., as'the'cause of the failure of America)can view it as 'those obsessed with Obama' as the actual infiltrators and desire 'the failure of America.
