Recently, a video of Elizabeth Lambert, a defender on the University of New Mexico women's soccer team, circulated the Internet. In the tape, Lambert wantonly punches uteruses, kicks wombs and uses the pony tails of her opponents to flip them head-long down to the hard turf.

Which brings us to sex and violence -- cornerstones of the male id, as well as any good R-rated film. Say sex and violence together quickly and it flows, almost like peanut butter and jelly.

But should it? Is sex violent? Is violence sexy? Or, for our purposes, are violent women sexy?

For her 90 minutes of fury, Lambert has been suspended indefinitely. But we've also heard a few of our friends say that the blonde's willingness to resort to just about anything short of genocide makes her one seriously sexy broad.

Really, does it? Or is violence in women unnecessary and sort of scary?


A violent woman gets my juices flowing

-- Guys don't just want to have a lot of sex -- we want to have a lot of different kinds of sex. So when we notice a woman has exhibitionist tendencies, we start thinking about a sloppy rendezvous in a bathroom stall. And if a chick seems like she isn't afraid to throw a punch, the rougher parameters of the no-pants dance start dancing through our simple minds.

-- Men get great satisfaction from domesticating the wild. If we didn't, dogs would still be wolves and fish would have to be our awkward best animal friend. So yeah, violent ladies, we are comparing you to wild dogs in need of taming. (Ducking ...)

-- One of the benefits of a girlfriend who has no qualms about smashing things in anger is that it cuts down on annoying requests to kill bugs, which are often frustratingly quick.

A violent woman is like the cold ocean to my wiener

-- When your violent lady friend happens to go off in a public setting on a potential romantic rival, a random dude who tried and failed to cop a stealthy feel or, heaven forbid, an officer of the law, there is really no way to handle the situation gracefully. In fact, having to "control your woman" can be quite an emasculating experience.

-- On a similar front, if your ill-tempered significant other turns on you full tilt, there isn't a whole lot a gentleman can do in response beyond a hearty shaking. While it's true women aren't the world's best punchers, they often wear rings and have dangerously sharp nails; and many of them seem able to tap into their child-birthing strength when they kick.

-- Maybe you think MMA fighter Gina Carano is one hot package, what with her spandex and black eye. But is she sexy because she kicks ass for a living, or because she is aesthetically pleasing in general? The point is: A sexy woman who acts violently and executes rear-naked choke-holds is going to stand out, but sexy women are also sexy when they prepare you a sandwich, solve an equation, or do just about anything.
