It's been written in the Library of Congress, and on a men's urinal in the downtown St. Louis Hardee's that the American Mustache Institute's "Robert Goulet Memorial Mustached American of the Year" honor is an award that is a cut above the rest. This year, after more than 100,000 online votes, Clay Zavada bested a field that included hero-pilot Sully Sullenberger and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder for the austere Goulet honor.
After accepting the award, Zavada was kind enough to sit down with Dr. Aaron Perlut, chairman of the American Mustache Institute to discuss his feelings about being the "Goulet" for 2009.
