Supermarket: It's an oddly generic name (apparently Super Wal-Mart was taken), but it's also a great Web site for finding work from hundreds of artists and designers without suffering through the ceramic slums of Etsy. All of the products featured have been selected by its taste mongers, and Supermarket stocks a little bit of everything, from jewelry to T-shirts to lamps, panties and artwork to the awesome, surreptitious mustache ring ($45 in silver). The site is pretty easy to use: You can find the newest releases or sort by the most popular. Got a question? Contact the designer directly.
Other stocking stuffers include pure ceramic speakers ($495) -- OK, there might be some ceramic alleyways on Supermarket -- and the clear winner: a fedora made entirely out of recycled cassette tape ($165).
