If there's one thing political scandal has been missing these last few years, it's utter insanity. Well, say hello to former New Mexico Senate leader Manny Aragon.Aragon was indicted in a $4.2 million construction scandal and is now serving time in prison. Before he left though, he managed to have a castle built in a poor, Albuquerque neighborhood. An actual castle.
Apparently the castle was Aragon's party house. Naturally, it has a plethora of large bathrooms and no kitchens whatsoever. There's an antique bar and the state seal of New Mexico hangs over the bed in the master bedroom.

Bebe, there is not any real justice anymore, just look at what happens when a celeb gets caught with drugs or gets a dwi or even murder, heck they even painted paris hiltons jail cell for her do you think they would do that for me or you? The working class as slowly drifted down to just being the servants of the wealthy. Before long even Mexican citizens will not be drawn to this once great nation because unless things change here and we can get politicans that actually understand that they work for us and the enormous responsibilty that holds we will be just like Mexico. Unfortunately just like in Mexico if you want to get rich get into politics. And the prison he's in I will bet isnt like the one they would send the average joe to, it probably has two tennis courts and a swimming pool.

Why does this story neglect to state the criminal's party affiliation as a Democrat?

There seems to be an unspoken rule in the media these days, that if a politician screws up and is a Democrat, the reader has to dig for it. If the idiot is a Republican, it is in the lead sentence.

Well, donh, doesn't your question answer itself? He's a Democrat. We all know that if he were affiliated with any other party ei: Independent, Republican, Green it would be stated both at the beginning and the end of the story.

A crooked politician? Amazing, I thought we had carried them all out of town, tarred and feathered, on a rail. Next election.

We the consumers of the press and other media must insist that there be an equal treatment as to party affiliation. The press swears they have no bias, and then they do this. They think we are stupid and don't notice.

Amazingly, these FOOLS must believe they are worthy...it is time to put a stop to this madness. Do you remember what it was like in high school to have "peer pressure"? I do...and if I messed up, then there were dozens of peers around me to acklowledge my shortcomings and hazzel me into submission...eventually, I learned from my mistake and corrected mt actions and checked my attitute. Now, I realize that I'm all grown up and peer pressure donesn't carry the same doom and gloom, but still, I don't what to disappoint my peers....So why do these people not care what their co-hortspeers/ think of them before they over indulge in greedy/illegal behavior?

You all complain about Democrats. Look at what Bush and Cheney did to this country. All for personal gain. Are you all complete idiots? Papa Bush was tied in to the Kennedy assassination, they owned Pennzoil and Look at Cheney's company getting one sided contracts in Iraq. No other company could even apply for a chance. Then a fake war all for the lining of thier own pockets. Democrats or Republicans...They are all crooked. We just need a complete overhaul! The largest arms company was owned by Papa Bush, Dick Cheney and Osama Bin laden. It's a business thing. War is good...For them!!!

Manny Aragon was for years the Democrats' generalissimo in the New Mexico Senate. Everyone knew he was a crook from way back. His special interests, political favors and kickbacks, were so blatant as to be nearly laughable. But the voters of Albuquerque's Hispanic South Valley kept returning him to office over and over again until he left to accept a plum appointment from Gov. Bill Richardson, a crony, to become President of NM Highlands University. Once in the big office, Aragon promptly began firing all the anglo professors--blatantly demonstrating his racism against whites. His brother was part of the drug running Mexican Mafia. Need more be said. He should have been in prison long before he was indicted and convicted.

That sounds a little like the esteemed (Democrat) Senator from Massachusetts, the late Ted Kennedy. Between Chappaquiddick and the Big Dig and brothers Bobby and Jack, nothing was ever done to discipline him for his graft and corruption.

Why isn't it mentioned that Manny is a DEMOCRAT? If he were a Republican, it would be in the headlines. Are nearly ALL Democrats and most Republicans corrupt?

I would also like to know why the castle "caretaker" is dressed like the grim reaper ? Was this castle really a house or a Church of Satan temple like the Bohemian Grove. Looks to me like some bizarre rituals were going on there and not just some dumb parties.
