Required viewing from the week in movies.

Morgan Freeman plays Nelson Mandela in Clint Eastwood's "Invictus," the first rugby movie that could potentially win Best Picture. Now, if Freeman also narrated the movie, the contest would pretty much be in the bag.

Also in theaters:
-- We were really looking forward to "The Lovely Bones" until the dismal reviews came in. Peter Jackson is dangerously approaching George Lucas territory these days.
-- While it's great that Disney is returning to traditional 2D animation with "The Princess and the Frog," it's kind of a shame that the result looks on par with "Thumbelina" or any number of mediocre Don Bluth films from the '90s.
-- Broken Lizard ("Super Troopers" and, er, "Club Dread") return with the restaurant/boxing comedy "The Slammin' Salmon." Hey, Morgan Fairchild plays herself. That's gotta be at least worth a rental, right?
