"Julie & Julia" memoirist Julie Powell is not one to hold back. In her new book, "Cleaving," the author breaks down sides of meat in graphic detail, while also breaking down an affair that threatens to destroy her marriage. And by the way, no, she wasn't the one being cheated on. Julie wrote a book about her own sexual adventures and infidelities.

Since butchery, sex and booze -- Powell writes about the sauce a lot, too -- also happen to be in Asylum's wheelhouse, we felt inclined to invite Julie out for a drink with us. Though we were honored when she obliged, we were even more honored when she elected to be our first "Drinks With Writers" subject to double-fist.
