Jeff Bridges scored a Golden Globe nod for his grizzled turn in the country music tale "Crazy Heart." Basically he's like Merle Haggard after a bender with Kris Kristofferson and "The Dude" from "The Big Lebowski." If there were an Oscar for "most weathered," Bridges would be a lock.

Also in theaters:
-- James Cameron must really be deluded if he thinks "Avatar" is going to be bigger than "Titanic." Why's that? Well, "Titanic" had Billy Zane. You can never discount the Zane factor."
-- Did you know that "Nine" is based on Fellini's "8-1/2"? What's that? You only care about how often Penelope Cruz bends over during her musical number? And you call yourself a theater fan.
-- How "Did You Hear About the Morgans?," which finds Sarah Jessica Parker and Hugh Grant stuck in Wyoming as part of the witness protection program, even got the green light is a mystery to us. There is only one good fish-out-of-water witness protection comedy, and it's called "My Blue Heaven."
