A tattoo can be a great way to pay tribute to something you love. And if what you love happens to be a grilled-cheese sandwich (and who doesn't?), consider heading to Melt Bar & Grilled, a popular Cleveland-area eatery that recently started rewarding your permanent homage to melted fromage with a discount of 25 percent off -- for life.

"I'm a fan of the band Rocket From the Crypt," Melt's owner, Matt Fish, tells Asylum. "They let everyone who has a tattoo of their band into their shows for free, and that's where I got the idea."

Fish, who is also the restaurant's primary cook, does require eligible tattoos to be in the style of the restaurant's logo, which depicts a grilled-cheese sandwich and crossbones. However, what you do with that logo is up to you: Each of the 51 grilled-cheese lovers who have so far taken Melt up the offer have done so in different colors, shapes and sizes.

Read on to meet a few of the folks who have taken the grilled cheese challenge and to to see their money-saving tattoos.

Anna Roth, for example, decided to put a Hello Kitty bow on top of the sandwich she got etched onto her right bicep. The 28-year-old hairdresser told Asylum that when she heard about the promotion at her favorite restaurant she "instantly" paid a visit to her tattoo artist, and has cashed in her discount seven times since she got her most unusual coupon two months ago.

Grilled cheese on one arm and Mario on the other? Anna Roth is clearly our kind of girl.

Annemarie Henderson, also 28, just got her Melt Bar & Grilled tattoo last Wednesday, and has already hit up the Lakewood, Ohio, hot spot four times. For her, the decision was an easy one: "I'm a big fan of grilled cheese and I'm a big fan of tattoos. And I'm big fan of getting 25 percent off of food and booze."

Since all those in the Melt Bar & Grilled tattoo family get a special discount card, Annemarie Henderson doesn't have to lift her shirt every time she comes in. But we appreciate her doing so on our behalf.
Yes, grilled cheese goes into the mouth.

The promotion isn't really about drumming up business, says Fish: "Melt is always packed during meal times, and will be featured on the Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" on Feb. 8." Rather, he sees it as a way to have some fun and to foster a sense of community among his customers.
