Somebody named Raul really wants somebody named Megan to know that he still loves her.We know this because Raul expressed his most heartfelt feelings for Megan, whom he broke up with an indeterminate amount of time ago, in a 1000-plus-word half-page love letter/advertisement he took out in the San Antonio-Express News Tuesday.
As the story of the unusual advertisement started to gain national attention, the San Antonio-Express News attempted to get Raul to elaborate on the rather cryptic note. But Raul has refused, preferring that his original letter, which contains no last names or contact information, speak for itself.
The $1,800 ad was printed in a calligraphy that Raul helped design, and featured such flowery prose as "I understand your life is different but my soul is still constantly trying to touch yours."
While Raul acknowledges in the beginning of the note that an easier way to reach out to Megan would have been to drop it in the mail, he writes, "If I really truly love you, then it's important that I look for the highest mountain to climb and shout it from the top of my lungs."
One potential Megan has come forward and contacted the Express-News. However, she lives out of state, making it doubtful she is the one to whom Raul is referring. The paper also told Asylum that another man phoned soon after the love letter ran "to inquire about running similar ad."
So even if Raul and Megan never reconnect, lovelorn men who want to make a grand, romantic gesture might just be the new revenue stream that the floundering newspaper industry has been waiting for.

Why is it we're always helping third world country children? We have plenty of them starving right here in the good old USA.
We throw out or waste enough to feed thousands....

That's wonderful. So romantic. So many people, men and women, are so crass, so jaded, they would call a gesture like this stalking when it is a genuine gesture of romance. The best kind of man she could get, is one who will love her like this.

anyone bashing this guy is an idiot. its his money let him do what he wants with it. if your so concerned about the starving kids in africa go get a 2nd job to help take care of them. this guy obviously cares about this person enough to spend $1800 on an ad trying to reach her so whats the big deal? i for one respect this effort and wish him the best of luck no matter what the situation is.

You did the right thing...If you find that special person you are lucky.
If she does not see you as her special person ..then back off and move on .
Good luck in either case!!

I had a 26 year love like this man. He died at age 44 so I can never get that back. I tried to block the pain with another for 4 years but I knew he could never fill the shoes of the love of my life. I hope some of you men can understand the true meaning of real love, I hope. Lots of you sound so jaded but 'tis you whom are the wusses. Be well............

This is how I still feel for Joe, after almost 48 years. He was the love of my life, my one true love. (JRG 07.17.44)
He had a part time job, worked as soon as he could, and had a real nifty 1956 blue two door coupe Ford. He was responsible and thoughtful.
When he asked me to go steady on Dec. 1, 1961, while I was in a hospital bed after having emergency appendectomy, I said yes.
I thought it would last a lifetime. There had been crushes before, but NOTHING like I felt with him in my life.
What I didn't see coming was his former girlfriend was pregnant and within 4 months he broke it off with me and married her. He couldn't even tell me for a month.
I guess he married her, left the state, and now I have no idea where he is. I only hope he's been happy all this time.
