While it's true that 90 percent of college bowl games don't amount to a hill of Tostitos, thanks to the corporate-naming craze that infected sports about 15 years ago, at least some of these second- and third-tier battles for nothing have names so silly that they become memorable. Here are the 10 worst college bowl names of all time:10. PapaJohns.com Bowl
If the PapaJohns.com bowl isn't able to deliver anything better than a matchup between two 7-5 teams who finished toward the bottom of their conferences does everyone get their money back?
9. Poulan Weed-Eater Independence Bowl
Any play-by-play man who finds himself uttering the words "We're live from the Poulan Weed-Eater Bowl" can be pretty sure his next assignment will involve children or animals.
8. Insight BowlSince when have concussions or early morning tailgating ever been associated with gaining a clearer perception of a situation?
7. Salad Bowl
The upstart Fiesta Bowl would have never been able to break the four traditional "major" bowl games' hold on all the national championship action if it had kept its original name, the completely ridiculous (but healthy) Salad Bowl.
6. Outback Bowl Nothing says American football like an Australian-themed steakhouse.
5. Tobacco Bowl
This longtime battle between Virginia-based colleges went dark in 1984. Briefly, there was talk of bringing it back as the "Asbestos Bowl."
4. Culligan Holiday Bowl
Does a Culligan holiday mean a break from the office water dispenser, or a vacation that takes place the middle of a giant plastic bottle of H20?
3. Humanitarian Bowl"Violent ground acquisition games such as football are in fact crypto-fascist metaphors for nuclear war," said a young Robert Downey Jr. in the classic ''Back to School." Humanitarian Bowl? Not so much.
2. EagleBank Bowl
This Washington, D.C., matchup was originally conceived as the "Congressional Bowl." Then big business stepped in and gave it a new daddy. Just like what happened to your congressman.
1. BCS Championship GameAt this point, any event with the scarlet letters of BCS in its name is mud.

Don't forget the Chik-Fil-A Peach Bowl. Who the hell eats chicken and peaches?

I'm surprised that the IBM/OS2 Warp Fiesta Bowl wasn't on the list.

Gene is absolutely correct about the ridiculous Chik-Fil-A Peach Bowl. How could the writer have missed that disaster?
Eventually we will have something like the Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Bowl.

How about the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl. This is the actual name and what they referred to it as the whole time and on all the tv graphics.
Yeesh.
