Being our first president who hails from a tropical island, it should surprise no one that Barack Obama decided to return to his childhood home when he needed a little Christmas-holiday R&R. But Hawaii is more than just palm trees and leis. It is also one of the most densely populated states in America.
When our last president decamped to his ranch in Crawford, Texas, just about the only thing that got displaced was brush. Things are a little different when Obama hits the usually crowded beaches of Oahu. Keep reading to check out some photographic evidence from the president's vacation.

The Obama's have made vacationing during holidays difficult for everyone. The Mrs. Obama choose the one day per year that its free to get into National Parks to tour a few herself, inconveniencing thousands who went that day because its free! Things are so bad that Webster's added the word staycation to its new dictionary because so many people are spending their vacations at home out of fear of spending their savings. "IF" they have any. People are looking for a finding things to do at home or in their area to do instead.
I do not begrudge the Obama's a vacation or multiple vacations but when we are in finacial crisis and if its good enough for Americans to enjoy a staycation why don't the Obama's give it a try.
Last time I was in Washington there were dozens of museums to visit that would be less costly for the country as well as educational for the kids. I for one would love to have grown up with total complete access to all Washington has to offer with theatre, art, the monuments and the Smithsonian Museums and much more.
There is plenty time to travel after Obama's term(s) end when his presense will be less problems for other vacationers as well as locals and businesses.
Paris was nice, Martha's Vineyard was nice, Oahu well of course that was nice and the National Park was a wonderful experience... but in prime season its very selfish to choose locations like these.
But seriously, you know the average can not afford these luxury's so try a spending a vacation or two at home and take the kids to the Smithsonian.. I promise they will just as much if not more!
