Forget Nobu and the Waverly Inn, if you really want to impress a lady friend, take her to the most exclusive restaurant in the city -- a Subway sandwich shop. Built in a shipping container, this fast food outpost will be lifted by crane to meet construction workers as they construct the Freedom Tower. It's open only to the workers and meant to save precious minutes of their lunch hour from slow elevator rides to the ground. As the tower grows in height, the container will follow, moving up about one story every week or two, with the tower's peak eventually reaching 1,776 feet in the air.
It's a treat for workers, offering a full Subway menu (five-dollar foot-looooongs!) plus hot dogs, hamburgers and hot pretzels. All that and yet we can't even get a FryDaddy installed in our cube farm.
