"Relapse: Refill" adds five new tracks to Eminem's hit 2009 album. Did you know Em has the fourth and fifth best-selling albums of the decade? And that 'N Sync's "No Strings Attached," released in 2000, is the decade's best-selling non-reissue album? Yep, the record industry peaked 10 years ago. Also in stores this week:
-- "London Calling: 30th Anniversary Edition" celebrates The Clash's beloved LP, which is currently spinning on pretty much every dive bar jukebox around the world.
-- Today marks the re-release of Tangerine Dream's eerie score for "Legend." Yes, the movie where Tom Cruise hangs out with unicorns and dwarves.
-- Remember Samantha Fox, of "Touch Me (I Want Your Body)" fame? Well, apparently she has enough songs to warrant a "Greatest Hits" compilation.

Why does rap exist, maybe for blacks or whites who have no music in them, just
rhythm or an ability to rhyme and no voice.
Never once heard any rap that had more than the clearing of a throat or cough.
It sucks as entertainment or music cause it aint.
Howcum no rap girls for the most part, all guys.Suppose the girls really have voices as well as good looking bodies and faces?
Grow up American music and ge4t back to basics, gutter chants are just for the untalented.Byonce, Blige, et al are talented and beautiful.
The guys are just hoods with no connections in the real music biz like SammyDavis andmany others had because they really know music and could express it on an instrument other than a sore throat.

HEY MARLON, Right on bra. To become a well versed musician you must broaden ones horrizons, experience new and varried genres, otherwise u become stagnant and blase. And to educate all u masters of the music out there....With out the blues (just about all black) There would be.......NOTHING!!!!!. So ya know, I've been playin guitar for over thirty years and I respect all forms of musical interpitation....Just as long as it is a positive outlet for ones gift...NUFF SAID....Peace and love...Happy 2010.

I am not suprised by you people who just sit here and talk about about rap music. Like someone said earlier the music reflects the society aka people and the listeners. Additionaly, it all comes down to what each person likes to hear. I have tons of friends who sing with taylor swift, but still know how to get down with Kanye or Lil Wayne. Also, for you people who say rap takes no skill, then you try putting together rhymes like they can. If you dont like rap music dont listen to it, but as long as it continues to sell you people are SOL beacuse you cant do anything. If rap artist music is so bad then why do they when grammys ect?

You know, for ages there have been poor people with problems who somehow managed to produce quality works that showed their outrage, pain, cynicism, and determination. Being poor is no excuse for producing junk and calling it art. The music today is largely junk. I don't care how poor that waynie dude is. His work is like his socio-economic standing before he got "bigged-up"---poor.

One more thing, because I love all types of music. Music myopia is ridiculous. Rap is a legitimate art form. It began with great intentions and skill. In the 70's and 80's not just anyone could rap as there were contests that decided, on the spot, who actually had skill and something to say. Gangsta rap destroyed rap music, plain and simple. Love ,Digable Planets, Arrested Development, Run DMC! These kids today just don't have any class where it comes to what they create because they don't really believe that they can use music for anything other than getting laid. And it has nothing to do with race. (What the heck was the AMA awards? Rap, Rock, Techno--They all made me bleed internally.)Run DMC and Aerosmith did "Walk this way" together when MTV (another story) was worth something. Visually and symbolically it was supposed to be a melding of cultures and musical styles. Music was supposed to "say something." You ask teenagers today what do you think about global warming, the deficit, affirmative action, school vouchers, and most give you a blank stare. Who cares what side they take! Can they just have a blasted opinion? All are topics that will affect them, but the music they listen to is about partying and spending loads of money most of them will never be able to with the fluidity that is portrayed in videos. I'm not saying music shouldn't be about pure entertainment; it should however, not be used solely for gross sensual titillation. And if you are going to talk about sex, make me think about my lover, not a pimp! On top of that, there is no responsibility. It's the "I am free to speak to I can say anything I want mentality." What exactly does freedom of speech mean? Are there no virtues, no values, no contemplation of the power of speech? There isn't even a decent dialogue because the artist themselves can't even speak properly when they accept their "awards". And so many of them think they are absolved of responsiblity because they are artists telling it like it is--Ugh!

The term homophobe is really BS. When I was a kid when ever we wanted to try to get one of our friends to do something on a dare we would accuse them of being scared to, you know like calling them chicken or fraidy cat. Kinda use reverse psychology (but just because they didn't want to do what ever it was that we were daring them to didn't mean they were scared or had a phobia). That is what those perverts are trying to do. The word phobia denotes a fear of something like Claustrophobia. Just because I see vomit or dog crap doesn't mean I'm A f r a i d of it or H a t e it it just means I don't want to step in it or be around it. It just needs to be cleaned up
