We always thought, from personal experience, that when a car gets stolen it tends to disappear forever. It doesn't usually turn up a few blocks away so you can see it and then watch it get stolen all over again.Apparently we were wrong, because that's exactly what happened to a South Williamsburg man who foolishly left his keys in his car overnight at South 9th and Driggs. After a brief poke around the neighborhood, the man found his car, which had been driven a few blocks away, parked and locked.
While waiting for the aid of police and a tow truck, who should walk up but the freakin' car thief?!? Unfortunately, after a brief argument, the carjacker got into the car and stole it for a second time, before the cops could arrive.
Maybe the moral of the story is to never leave your keys in your car. That would have been a great way to avoid the first -- and thus, second! -- theft of the vehicle.

Better yet carry a gun with you at all times and shot the person stealing your car.
